A template should carry a useful composition without carrying the creator's unfinished decisions. Prepare a clear starting state that makes the two screens, scene identity and first editable action understandable.
Try it in SynthMock
Start with a Duo scene.
Use a reusable template as your starting point, then apply the choices in this article.
A paid plan is required to use templates and export.
Separate the reusable idea from campaign-specific content
The reusable idea might be a cover-to-inner reveal, a restrained open hero or a six-shot screen-led orbit. The source artwork can change while that structure remains useful. Name the template after the visual job it performs rather than a private project code.
Avoid leaving a half-completed source replacement, a mismatched cover or an accidental camera jump in the starting state. Those problems become the next user's first experience. If a particular crop or source pairing is essential to the composition, explain it near the template rather than assuming another creator will infer it from the thumbnail.
A proposed template contract
A short description can communicate the starting conditions without exposing technical implementation details. Keep the promises limited to what the template actually contains.
| Promise | What the starting state should demonstrate |
|---|---|
| Two-screen reveal | A clear cover and inner role with coherent source examples |
| Continuous motion | Matching effect endpoints and intentional shot spans |
| Consistent style | One finish, background and lighting character |
| Easy adaptation | A useful first view and honest instructions about replacement |
Review it as someone else's first project
Preview the template from its beginning, then consider a source with a different color palette and more text. The template cannot guarantee every uploaded design will fit perfectly. It can give the user a clear structure and an obvious reason to inspect the resulting crops.
A good starting image should show the device and the screen, not an incidental edge-on transition. Confirm that any shared template remains available and that its description reflects the actual content. Paid access is required to use and export native templates in SynthMock; public preview does not mean unrestricted reuse. Be transparent about that before asking someone to invest time preparing a full campaign.
Final pass
Before you call it finished
- Name the template by its visual purpose.
- Remove incomplete replacements and accidental motion gaps.
- Describe source expectations and access requirements honestly.
