The strongest reason to open the device is that the app has something useful to show inside. Connect the physical reveal to a change the audience can understand, rather than using the fold as decoration between unrelated screens.

Choose an expansion that is easy to explain
Imagine a photo editor. The cover can show one selected image; the inner display can show that same image with room for adjustments and a filmstrip. The opening has a clear purpose: it reveals context around a recognizable object. This is a hypothetical product direction, not evidence of a released app or automatic responsive behavior.
The source pair should carry that relationship without relying entirely on the motion. Put the two images beside one another first. If the selected photo, document or task changes unexpectedly, fix the artwork before trying to make the transition persuasive with lighting or camera movement.
A proposed reveal with one clear payoff
Use a short storyboard to place the product explanation where it can be seen. Fold values describe physical geometry; the Fold animation setting controls screen optics and does not create or remove the movement itself.
| Stage | Device | Message |
|---|---|---|
| Before | Closed, cover readable | Recognize the selected object |
| During | Open along a controlled, continuously framed path | Understand that the same task is gaining space |
| After | Open view with restrained perspective | See the newly available context or controls |
Do not promise a software transition you cannot show
A mockup can present two screenshots inside folding hardware. It does not prove that an application keeps state across physical screens or implements a specific responsive layout. Use actual captures when demonstrating a working product, and label proposed layouts as concepts.
For an inner-screen recording, time the important action so it remains visible after the camera reaches its useful view. The small outer source in the native editor accepts a still image, so write the brief around a cover state rather than promising two independent video uploads. Finish with an open still that also explains the feature. That still gives the campaign a useful image wherever the animation is paused or not shown.

Final pass
Before you call it finished
- Keep the selected object identifiable across both sources.
- Make the expanded view reveal useful context.
- Distinguish a visual concept from a verified software behavior.
Make the next version yours.
