Choose the final shape first

Set the viewport ratio for the intended image or video. A device centered in a wide canvas may be clipped in a square or vertical export. Work in the target shape before deciding how much room the phone should occupy.

For a fold sequence, inspect the widest pose first. The open display or an angled half can occupy more of the canvas than a closed cover. Keep room for that movement rather than centering only the first frame.

Place, scale, then refine

Pan X moves the composition horizontally, Pan Y vertically, and Zoom changes the device’s size in the view. The Camera controls expose all three; the editor also labels Pan with Space Drag and Zoom with Scroll.

1. Pause on the widest or most demanding pose.
2. Adjust Zoom until the outer corners fit with deliberate breathing room.
3. Use Pan X and Pan Y to balance the phone within the canvas.
4. Check the first and last frames, then several intermediate positions.
5. If a detail shot should crop the device deliberately, make sure the crop leaves the relevant interface and explains what the viewer is seeing.

Keep source crop separate

If a button is missing from the uploaded app image, moving the whole phone will not reveal it. Inspect the source proportions and screen assignment instead. Pan and Zoom operate on the scene, while the device compositor determines how the source fills the display.

If the phone shifts unexpectedly between shots, compare the previous End and next Start Pan/Zoom values alongside the rotations and Fold. A subtle framing mismatch can look like a jump even when the orientation matches. After export, review the actual file edges rather than relying only on the editor’s surrounding workspace.
