Export a Duo mockup with a transparent background

Choose a format that preserves alpha

PNG and WebP can preserve a transparent background in SynthMock’s image workflow. JPEG does not support transparency. Turning on Transparent Bg while exporting JPEG cannot create an alpha channel in that format.

Native image export and the transparency control require paid access. Prepare the finished camera, Fold pose and screen artwork first, so you can judge the final object independently from its original scene background.

Keep the lighting while removing the backdrop

Transparent background does not mean the device should have no reflections. The model still needs its lighting to read as metal and glass. Keep a useful light setup and evaluate it against the intended destination color.

1. Pause at the desired frame and check the device’s outer corners.
2. Enable Transparent Bg in the scene controls.
3. Open Export and choose Image.
4. Select PNG or WebP and confirm the output dimensions.
5. Export, then place the file on both a light and a dark background to inspect its edges.

Check what is actually transparent

Look for a background color baked into the downloaded image, unexpected opaque areas and clipped corners. A viewer that displays transparency against black can make a correct file appear to have a black background. Test it in a design document with a colored rectangle underneath.

Transparency applies to the scene background; it is not an instruction to remove the uploaded app’s background from inside the screen. Keep the screen design intentional. If your final deliverable is video, use an opaque solid or gradient background instead: the native MP4 workflow does not preserve alpha. Save the transparent still separately if you also need a compositing asset.
