A reusable scene should survive a new screenshot. Replace the source on the correct screen, then inspect the shots that use it before changing anything about the composition.

Identify which screen and shot you are editing
Open your own Duo project or use a shared template to create a project in your account. Pause playback before replacing artwork. In a sequence, select the shot you intend to update and read the shot label alongside Screen images.
Make a note of the existing screen assignment. Large inner screen is the wide display revealed when the device opens. Small outer screen is the cover visible when closed. The camera angle can hide either one, so the currently visible image is not a reliable way to identify the upload target.
Update the source, then verify its partner
Use an image with the same proportions as the source it replaces. That minimizes the need for reframing. The recommended cover artwork is 1291 × 1878 px; the inner artwork is 2670 × 1878 px. Small outer accepts PNG, JPG or WebP images.
- Choose Replace image on the screen card you want to update, or drop the file onto that card.
- Wait until the upload completes before changing shots or closing the project.
- Inspect Small outer screen: if it says Same as large, a new large source will also appear on the cover.
- For independent designs, replace the small source with a separate still image.
- Move through the remaining shots and check their artwork. Confirm the actual result instead of assuming every source edit changes the whole sequence.
Keep the useful work already in the template
Changing source artwork does not require a different finish, lighting rig or motion direction. Review the replacement at the existing camera endpoints first. If a new header is clipped, correct the source layout or framing deliberately instead of making several unrelated changes at once.
A small-screen image that unexpectedly changes with the large one usually indicates linked artwork. Clearing an independent small image restores that link; it does not leave an intentionally empty cover. If the wrong shot changed, return to the selected shot and verify the source there before continuing. Reopen the saved project when you finish to confirm that the final sources are available.

- Saved camera and motion still frame the new content clearly.
