A useful template preserves the composition while making its screen artwork easy to replace. Start from a saved project and remove ambiguity before sharing it with someone else.
Try it in SynthMock
Start with a Duo scene.
Use a reusable template as your starting point, then apply the choices in this article.
A paid plan is required to use templates and export.
Prepare a starting scene, not an unfinished draft
Open the Duo project you want to reuse. Review its fold poses, camera endpoints, lighting and source assignments. A template with a clipped first frame or an unexplained cover image passes that confusion to the next creator.
Use example artwork that is safe to share. Remove private screenshots, customer information and files you do not have permission to distribute. If the template is intended to start with generic screens, restore appropriate placeholder artwork before saving it.
Use Save as template from a saved project
Save as template is available from an existing project. If you are still in an unsaved composition, save the project first. Template creation and reuse remain subject to your account access and limits.
- Save the project and verify that its current screen assets are available.
- Open the project menu and choose Save as template.
- Give the template a descriptive name that identifies its useful composition, such as a cover reveal or an open-screen orbit.
- Complete the template save and wait for confirmation.
- Open Templates and inspect the saved item’s name and preview.
- Use the template to check the starting project before distributing its link.
Check what the next person will inherit
The preview should represent the composition, and the first useful frame should be easy to find. In a sequence, inspect every shot for consistent finish and background. Make sure effect spans and adjacent poses still make sense after any final edits.
A saved template is not automatically a public share. Share it separately when you are ready, or add it to a folder with related templates. If creation is blocked by a limit, resolve the account limit rather than assuming the save succeeded. Avoid creating repeated copies while a thumbnail or save is still processing.
Final pass
Before you call it finished
- The project was saved before template creation.
- The template contains share-safe sources and coherent motion.
- Its name and preview identify the intended starting composition.
