Give the opening something to reveal
Use separate artwork for the small outer and large inner displays. For example, the cover can show a selected item while the inner display reveals its editing workspace. The relationship between those views makes the motion easier to understand.
Inspect Fold at 0° and 180° before animating. Both sources should be correct at the endpoints, with no baked-in margins or missing interface details. Keep the finish and background consistent while setting up the reveal.
Set the effect’s physical endpoints
Select the effect range for the shot and read whether Start or End is active. The Fold control changes the physical pose; the separate Fold animation switch changes the screen treatment during that pose change.
- Select Start and set Fold to 0° for a closed opening frame.
- Choose a camera angle that clearly presents the cover.
- Select End and set Fold to 180°, or a deliberate partial destination if that better serves the scene.
- Reframe the ending camera so the wider inner display fits.
- Choose an easing curve, such as Expo Out or In Out, and preview the reveal.
- Scrub intermediate poses to check the hinge, screen visibility and frame boundaries.
Leave time for the inner layout
The reveal is not finished when the hinge reaches its endpoint. The viewer still needs to recognize what is on the larger screen. Adjust the shot duration or following hold so that the app’s main feature gets a readable moment.
If the display softens during the opening, compare Fold animation on and off at the same frame. That is an optical choice, not a replacement for changing Fold. If the device leaves the canvas halfway through, reframe the camera path rather than fixing only the final still. Review the exported MP4 after the whole move is settled.
